Typical Summer Camp Day in Saratoga Springs, NY KIDS

Summer camp location: Maple Ave Middle School 515 Maple Ave Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 | KIDS Camp Typical Day:

  • 8:45-9:00 SCT Staff will be available to answer parent questions
  • 9:00-9:15 Attendance and group game
  • 9:15-9:30 Vocal and Physical warm up
  • 9:30-10:30 Work with Director on Scenes, Music and Choreography for show. Day one auditions take place in the am. Your child may sing in a group or individually or not at all and be placed in the ensemble. If your child is looking for a primary role they may want to sing individually. Children may sing anything, Happy Birthday is popular for those who have never done this before.
  • 10:30-10:45 Snack! Please have water bottle with your child's name on it. Please no Juices, water only for snack time.
  • Please send in snacks that are peanut free.
  • 10:45-11:15 Theater Game/workshop- We use these acting exercises to teach various skills that we will use throughout the camp and in the show.
  • 11:15-12 Noon Back to the show! More Scenes, Music, Acting and FUN!
  • 12:00-12:30 Lunch- Please bring your own lunch, If your child has allergies we will have an allergy lunch table with many children and staff. The lunchroom is not nut free.
  • 12:30-1:00 Outside Free play on play ground
  • 1:00-1:15 Outside Group Theatre Game
  • 1:15-2:45 Back to the Show- More Fun!
  • 2:00-2:15 Break More Water and Peanut free snack.
  • 2:15- 2:45- Run the show to prepare for final performance.
  • 2:45-3:00 Regroup and pack up for dismissal.

Dismissal campers need to be signed out in the GYM.

All Kids camps will perform in the chorus room. We will be creating a stage with wings and a backstage area. The audience seating will be stadium seating. The Performances will be at 11am and 2pm. There is no admission cost.

Disney's The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world and now, for the first time ever, you have the opportunity to produce this one-of-a-kind musical in your your school. The African savannah comes to life on your stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle... and back again, in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.
Auditions will be the first day of camp. They can sing a song from the show or choose not to sing at all during the audition. They may be asked to read some lines from the show as well. These auditions are very relaxed! Our staff is great at making sure everyone is comfortable during the auditions.

There is a $5 script fee for each child included in price and get to keep the script after the show is over.

Miss Nelson Is Missing

Miss Nelson's class is the worst behaved in the whole school. Spitballs flying across the room, paper airplanes sailing every which way and uncontrollable children send the gentle, long-suffering teacher, Miss Nelson, over the edge. But the students of Room 207 are in for a surprise when Miss Nelson turns up missing and is replaced by Viola Swamp, a scary substitute teacher who assigns homework from hell and wields her ruler like a sword! In desperation, the students set out to find their beloved Miss Nelson ... but will they ever get her back? Lessons of appreciation and respect.

Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie's best friend Lucille has found new best friends - and Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary's class Junie has trouble reading the blackboard - and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting.

This camp is a non auditioned based camp. Your child(ren) will be part of a one week show choir based off of the popular hit show Glee!
